The main rules in mountain biking:
Most of the Pusteria valley in South Tyrol is covered by woods and pastures, on which in summer many cows, sheep, and goats live. Thus many routes lead through the working area of farmers and foresters, who keep up and take care of the roads. For this reason on the South Tyrolean MTB routes some rules have to be followed, for the safety of the cyclists and of all those, who do their job.
- Consider the level of difficulty of the track as well as your experience and ability in biking!
- Always cycle with a controlled speed and good visibility!
- Be considerate of hikers and walkers and overtake very slowly!
- Accept barriers. Don’t forget, the roads are mainly laid out for agricultural and forestry purposes. Close fences!
- Never bike without a helmet! Check your gear before every tour!
- Be considerate of nature and animals and keep on marked roads and tracks
- Do not leave waste!
For your own safety and the safety of animals, end your bike tour before nightfall! Considering these rules you get the maximum of fun and relaxation out of your mountain bike holiday and help conserving the unique mountain landscape of South Tyrol.
