Hike " Sesto circular track“ in the town of the Three Peaks, Sesto

The track around Sesto is made up by two parts and is an exceptional opportunity to make a simple, interesting, and exciting hike in the town of the Three Peaks. The first part (about 3 hours of hiking including stops at the information points) on the north-eastern side of the valley covers the historic part with 7 information points on the Sesto sun dial, legends, the fauna, history, the Sesto mill-stones and watermill.
On the southern side the track concentrates on the natural history, with the age of the trees, the tracks of animals, mushrooms, roots, the fortress Heideck, woodpeckers, larch meadows, and the South Tyrolean Nature Parks (about 2 hours of hiking including stops at the information points). Both parts can obviously be combined. This easy hike with a little difference in height is also ideal for children and families.

Hike "Around the world-famous Three Peaks " in the Sextener Dolomiten

Departure point: hut Auronzo (2.320 m)
Walking time: 4 hours
Requirements: some endurance, middle difficulty
Particularity: view on the world famous Tre Cime in the Nature Park of the Sextener Dolomiten
Stops: hut Locatelli-Drei Zinnen, hut Auronzo, hut Lavaredo and hut Lange Alpe

Starting from the hut Auronzo (2.320 m) follow the track no. 101 on the southern side of the Tre Cime until you reach the hut Lavaredo (2.344 m). Slight climb to the Forcella del Monte Paterno (2.454). Wonderful view on the 500 m high northern faces of the world-famous Tre Cime in the Nature Park Sextener Dolomiten. Light descent down to the bifurcation:
a) easy climb to the hut Locatelli- Drei Zinnen (2.405 m)
b) left the descent continues following the path no. 105, then meets the path no. 102 that comes up from the Valle della Rienza. Continue on the path no. 105 (left) to the hut Lange Alpe and pass the lake Lang-Alpe, and terminate your hike around the world-famous Tre Cime in the Nature Park of the Sextener Dolomites on the western side at the hut Auronzo.

Hike "From Moso towards the pasture Klammbach“ in the town of the Three Peaks in Sesto

Walking time: 2 ½ hours
Path mark: red-white-red no. 13;
Difference in height: 600 m;
Particularities: mostly in the woods, mild ascent

At the church in Moso on the left an asphalt road soon turns into a forest road that takes along the gorge of the Sesto river and through thick spruce woods. Often the view is free on the Sextener Dolomiten. After about 2 hours you reach an area called "Saumahd", the limit of the pasture Alpe Nemes. At the cross a flat road continues to the hut Alpe Nemes, whereas left a good hiking trail climbs to the pasture Klammbach. On the pasture you find a rustic hut.

Hike  "From the Burg to the chapel in the wood" in the broad alpine valley in the Dolomites

Walking time: 3 hours

Starting from the via Freising in San Candido you reach the so-called „Burg“, a wood-covered hill south-east of San Candido. At the junction turn left and follow the marking „Waldkapelle“ (no.4/5) until you reach the junction to the right no. 4d and the chapel. From there follow the marked meditation path up to the farm Ladstätter, the Lourdes chapel, and the farms Hössler. There cross the road Kaiserstrasse and descend to Sesto either along the creek or following the asphalt road.

Hike "Corno di Fana" (2.663 m) in the broad alpine valley in the Dolomites

Departure point: hamlet Candelle, San Silvestro valley, 1600 m
Difference in height: 1.063 m
Path mark: climb no. 25 (via hut Bonnerhütte); descent no. 25a (via pasture Bergalm)
Overall walking time: climb 3 ½ hours
Requirements: demanding hike

Huts: Bonnerhütte, Seiterhof at Candelle

After the bar in Candelle follow the broad road on the right, crossing the river Golfen, until on the lift you see the path. Climb in sharp bends, passing the hut Bonnerhütte, until you reach the cross on the peak, at a height of 2.663 m. Descend back on the path no. 25 or via pasture Bergalm (no. 25a).

Hike "Picco Vallandro" (2.839 m) in the broad alpine valley in the Dolomites

Departure point: Prato Piazza (2.000 m)
Path mark: no. 40
Requirements: light demanding, for free from giddiness and sure-footed  hikers
Walking time: about 3 hours from the parking Prato Piazza to the peak

From the parking lot Prato Piazza follow the gravel road to the inn Berggasthof Plätzwiese. Between the inn and the Hotel Hohe Gaisl turn left and follow the broad eastbound road through the meadows that climbs to the “Dolomiten Höhenweg” no. 3. Follow northbound the steep grassy slopes dotted with rocks, then on coarse gravel up to the first peak. After a little saddle there is a short stretch secured with an iron rope, then an easy path to the cross on the peak. Descent: on the same route.
